The weather in Alcossebre is very balanced, with hot summers and mild winters. This is because it is located on the Mediterranean coast, which regulates the temperature in the area.
Although temperatures are stable throughout the year, there is a clear difference between the summer and winter months. In summer, the temperature usually reaches 35 degrees with sunny skies, making it ideal for a dip in the sea and enjoying a sunny day. On the other hand, the winter months tend to be colder, with temperatures around 10-15 degrees. Alcossebre Castle
Alcossebre Castle is one of the most characteristic medieval architectural features in the area. This castle does not belong to Alcossebre as such, but to the neighbouring village of Alcalá de Chivert. Even so, both villages share the same history, and this monument is well worth a visit during your stay in Alcossebre.
This castle is an Islamic fortification built between the 10th and 11th centuries. It is located on the south-western slope of the Sierra de Irta. Although it is currently in ruins, the towers and structure of the castle are still in good condition and can be visited. If you are interested in visiting the castle, we invite you to ask at the Alcossebre tourist office for first-hand information on visiting hours, as these may vary depending on the season.
Alcossebre Natural Park
The Sierra de Irta Natural Park is located next to the village of Alcossebre. It is a natural park where you can enjoy hiking or cycling trails while contemplating the nature that surrounds this beautiful destination. At the end of some of these routes, you can reach the hidden coves that the region offers, such as Cala Mundina, which we mentioned earlier.
Along the trails of the Sierra de Irta, you can also discover the local wildlife as well as historical architectural elements such as the hidden lime kiln and the Ebri Tower. Without a doubt, it is a highly recommended option for the cooler months.
