Alcossebre has several beaches\u2014some better known than others\u2014but they all share one thing: crystal-clear waters and fine sand. Today we\u2019re here to tell you about one of them that, on top of that, also has a wonderfully peaceful vibe. <\/p>\n\n

It\u2019s called Tropicana Beach\u2014officially known as Manyetes Beach\u2014and it\u2019s in the Cap i Corb area, bordering the Playa del Moro<\/a> on one side. What\u2019s around it? The sea on one side and the Sierra de Irta on the other. <\/p>\n\n

Features and services at Tropicana Beach <\/h2>\n\n

The beach is 400 m long and 35 m wide<\/strong>. There are no strong waves or currents and, what\u2019s more, it\u2019s a sandy beach where you can wade in and the depth increases very gradually. Ideal for everyone. <\/p>\n\n

Another plus is that it\u2019s one of the Blue Flag beaches in Castell\u00f3n<\/a>, which certifies the quality of the water and facilities. It has lifeguard stations (in summer), access for people with reduced mobility, showers, foot showers, toilets, walkways and bins.<\/strong> There\u2019s also a rental service for sun loungers, parasols and pedal boats.<\/p>\n\n

And behind the beach is Camping Playa Tropicana\u2014hence the name it\u2019s popularly known by.<\/p>\n\n

What to do at Tropicana Beach and nearby <\/h2>\n\n

The calm, crystal-clear waters along this stretch of coast make snorkelling<\/em><\/strong> a popular choice for many visitors. Is that your plan too, or would you rather go for an adventure sport? <\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re in the second group, you\u2019re in luck too, because at Las Fuentes Marina\u2014just a few minutes from Tropicana Beach in Alcossebre\u2014there are companies that rent equipment to go kayaking, paddleboarding<\/em> and diving, and they also offer boat trips along the coast<\/strong>. Don\u2019t say there aren\u2019t options! <\/p>\n\n

If what caught your eye most on the list of things you can do here is going on an excursion, the most special one is, without a doubt, a trip out to the Columbretes Islands<\/strong>. This volcanic archipelago, declared a Natural Park and Marine Reserve, lies a few miles off the coast, and around it you\u2019ll be able to see all kinds of marine life and spectacular seabeds. <\/p>\n\n

Prefer to stay on dry land? Then choose the Sierra de Irta<\/a>, a protected natural area<\/strong> with more than twelve kilometres of unspoilt, undeveloped coastline, declared a Natural Park in 2002, with hiking routes for all levels<\/strong>. The easiest one follows the coast and reaches Torre Badum<\/a>, an old watchtower built on a cliff with beautiful views. <\/p>\n\n

And if you\u2019d rather something more challenging, the route to the Hermitage of Santa Luc\u00eda<\/a>\u2014312 m above sea level\u2014will also reward you with spectacular panoramic views; on clear days you\u2019ll be able to make out the outline of the Columbretes and, in great detail, Oropesa and the Xivert Castle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Restaurants and places to eat near the beach <\/h2>\n\n

Tropicana Beach in Alcossebre has as many food options as the town centre itself, so you won\u2019t need to backtrack to try classic seafood dishes.<\/p>\n\n

The closest\u2014and best known\u2014of them all is the Can Roig<\/a> restaurant<\/strong>; it\u2019s a family-run place that\u2019s been operating since 1984 and is now managed by Daniel and Amanda, who have kept the tradition going with local, zero-kilometre produce<\/strong>, so the menu changes with the season. You\u2019ll have to stop by to see what they\u2019ve got. <\/p>\n\n

Another highly recommended option is Cuina Pura Vida<\/a><\/strong>, a restaurant serving fusion cuisine with strong Mediterranean roots<\/strong>. Like the previous one, it also has a terrace and hosts DJ sessions, yoga classes and lots more activities. Another place you\u2019ll need to visit to see what\u2019s on and what\u2019s on the menu, which they describe as pure, natural and conscious. <\/p>\n\n

Chepi<\/a><\/strong> is another go-to spot in the area for a great meal. They use fresh produce, the service is exceptional and, of course, it also has a terrace.<\/strong> A tip: order the anchovies in vinegar, a rice dish (book ahead) or baby squid\u2014everything is delicious! <\/p>\n\n

And now, two more recommendations that aren\u2019t restaurants as such, but are still well worth knowing. In the southern part of the beach you\u2019ll find Xiringuito El Serradal<\/a>, ideal for a drink and a bite to eat. And further north\u2014very close to the campsite\u2014is Churrer\u00eda Paco\u2019s<\/a>. Do you have churros with hot chocolate for breakfast or an afternoon snack? <\/p>\n\n

How to get to Tropicana Beach in Alcossebre <\/h2>\n\n

By car<\/strong>, take the N-340, follow the turn-off to Alcossebre and then the signs to the Cap i Corb area.<\/p>\n\n

Want to avoid the car? Then go by bus<\/strong>; there\u2019s a stop very close to the campsite where lines meet that connect with Castell\u00f3n and other towns along the Costa del Azahar, with Tropicana Beach. <\/p>\n\n
