And all without moving too far, which is a great point in its favor. <\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Most have marked trails, interpretation centers, and very easy-to-follow routes<\/strong>, so you don&#8217;t have to be an expert in mountaineering to enjoy them.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And to make it even better, thanks to the Mediterranean climate, these natural spaces can be visited practically throughout the year. It is a protected, undeveloped coastal mountain range <strong>located between Pe\u00f1\u00edscola, Alcal\u00e0 de Xivert, and Alcossebre<\/strong>. Along its kilometers of coastline, cliffs of white rock, coves, and beaches such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/en\/beach-pebret\/\">El Pebret<\/a> alternate with small stretches of path with constant views of the sea.  <\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its vegetation is typical of the dry Mediterranean climate: pine forests, rosemary, palmetto, and plants adapted to salinity such as sea fennel.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, <strong>the park preserves an interesting historical heritage such as the<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/en\/castle-santa-magdalena-pulpis\/\"><strong>Castle of Santa Magdalena de Pulpis<\/strong><\/a><strong>, the<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/castillo-alcala-de-xivert\/\"><strong>Castle of Alcal\u00e1 de Xivert<\/strong><\/a><strong>, and coastal watch posts such as the<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/en\/torre-badum\/\"><strong>Torre Badum<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an ideal park for hiking, biking, and also for visiting with the idea of enjoying its most hidden and lesser-known coves such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/en\/cala-argilaga\/\">Cala Argilaga<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-76e15b7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"76e15b7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Sierra-irta-qb8avtc1fuhn67ic66pegtf4wv6kc655mynswudq40.jpg\" title=\"Sierra irta\" alt=\"Sierra irta\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-185838c elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"185838c\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-9054d9f\" data-id=\"9054d9f\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d421237 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d421237\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">#2 Desierto de las Palmas Natural Park <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-470fdb6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"470fdb6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Very close to the coast and the city of Castell\u00f3n is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orangecosta.com\/blog\/desierto-de-las-palmas-benicassim\/\">Desierto de las Palmas<\/a>, a park that, despite its name, <strong>is not arid at all<\/strong>. The term &#8220;desierto&#8221; (desert) refers to the isolation sought by the Carmelites years ago, and &#8220;Las Palmas&#8221; to the abundant palmetto that grows in the area. Small area, but with many surprises! <\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visits are highly regulated to protect the environment, but if you organize yourself with time, you can sign up for a Natural Park <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4eec311 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4eec311\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the extreme north of the province is one of the wildest spaces in Castell\u00f3n: the Tinen\u00e7a de Benifass\u00e0.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here the landscape changes completely \u2014compared to what we have been telling you\u2014 and gives way to <strong>well-preserved forests, full of ravines, holm oak groves, and gall oak groves.<\/strong> Many species such as mountain goats, roe deer, vultures, and golden eagles find refuge here.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, this park hides <strong>cave paintings declared a World Heritage Site and the Royal Convent of Santa Mar\u00eda de Benifass\u00e0<\/strong>, one of the oldest historical complexes in the Valencian Community.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
